Bad breath, halitosis in medical language, is in most cases caused by bacterial proliferation in the mouth. Baking soda makes it possible to change the pH of the mouth, affecting precisely the most acidic substances, such as onions and garlic, which are the main causes of bad breath. Not only does it kill bacteria that cause bad breath, but also prevent many, often more serious problems that bacteria can cause: caries, gum inflammation, periodontal disease, and so on.

Dissolve 1 teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of cold or lukewarm water, then rinse your mouth with the solution. Ideally, this should be done every time after brushing your teeth.

  • Finally, do not forget to drink enough water to avoid dry mouth that favors halitosis.
